Ontario officially recognizes September 25th of each year as Franco Ontarian Day to recognize the contribution of the Francophone community of Ontario to the social, economic and political life of the province. There are more than 622,000 Francophones in the province and 1.5-million Ontarians who speak French. In many communities, including Windsor, a Franco-Ontario flag will be raised.
