Shavuot, or the Feast of Weeks, occurs on the sixth day of the Hebrew month of Sivan. It is celebrated seven weeks after Passover with the counting period beginning on the second evening of Passover. This holiday celebrates the day the Torah was given to the nation of Israel on Mount Sinai. It also acknowledges the grain harvest of the early summer.
